Inline skating takes place for the grade one students on Monday, March 20; Tuesday, March 21; and Wednesday, March 22.

Ice Outside:

Please be careful outside the grade one doors.  Traction sand has been spread over much of the ice but it is still quite slippery in some spots.  Students were reminded of ice safety today.  Please continue this conversation at home.

St. Patrick's Day:

We will be building "Leprechaun Traps" on Thursday, March 16th as an introduction to our "Building Things" unit in grade one science.  Please continue to send in materials as listed in the "Material Request" blog.

Thank you,
Ms. Bakkan

Blue Folders: Please Check

Dear Parents,

The students are bringing a significant amount of completed work home today.  If the students had their blue folders at school, this work will be in the folder.

I have started to re-assess the students Power Words and I have sent approximately half of these assessments home today, along with more flash cards.  Please check through the blue folders for this important information.  If you do not find it, I will be sending it home before break.

Students first green and blue journals came home today as well.  These can stay home and new ones are being started next week.

Last time we cleaned out our bins, some of the students accidentally brought home their "Personal Dictionaries."  Please ask your child if they do not have theirs at school and check at home for it.  It is a large booklet that the students have written in and illustrated.  Thank you.

Have a great weekend!

Thank you,
Ms. Bakkan
