Parent Information: Important

Dear Parents,

PLEASE CHECK BACK THIS EVENING

FOR PICTURES OF OUR DAY OF LEARNING!! J

OUR BLOG:

A quick note about our blog:

Please continue to check our blog each day.

If there isn’t a post for the day by 8pm, please check back the following day.  There may be times where meetings go late or nights such as Thursday’s parent/teacher interviews where I am unable to complete the blog.  This will not be often.

This will continue to be the place to receive important information about classroom activities and school news.

BLUE COMMUNICATION FOLDERS:

Please check your child’s backpack for a blue folder.  This folder will contain notices that are being send home and will provide a place for notices and forms to be sent back to the school.

Please leave this folder in your child’s backpack at all times.

PARENT-TEACHER INTERVIEWS:

A friendly reminder that tomorrow after school and Friday are Parent-Teacher interviews.  These interviews are 15 minutes long and are a chance for you and I to discuss your child’s current progress and adjustment into grade one.  Please note that we are currently on day 21 of school, so formal assessments such as reading levels will not be provided at this time.  You will also get a chance to look through your child’s work.  I am always available to discuss your child’s progress or to answer any questions or concerns you may have.

WEATHER:

We were a little cold at recess today.  We checked the weather and it was -4c with the wind chill.  Please ensure that we are well dressed as the weather gets colder and unpredictable. The Calgary Board of Education’s cold weather policy states that students are to remain outside (mornings and lunch recess) with weather up to -20c with the wind chill.

FIELD TRIP:

Field trip forms for our trip to the Calgary Corn Maze are in your child’s blue folder.  Please return them ASAP, so we can begin to plan our groups.  We have enough volunteers at this time but if you would still like to volunteer and have clearance, please let me know.

COLD/FLU SEASON:

We are doing our best to keep each other healthy by washing our hands with soap before snack and lunch.  We also wash our hands if we cough or sneeze into them.

We are noticing a lot of fingers in the mouth and in the nose.  Please remind your child that they can get others sick this way and that they can get sick too.

Please keep your child home if they are sick.  Clear running noses and dry coughs are common and students may come to school if they feel well enough.

Thank you for helping to keep our classroom community healthy and happy!
